LMK05028EVM: Modifying reference clock initial configuration

Part Number: LMK05028EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK05028, USB2ANY

Hi team,

My customer is trying to modify LMK05028 reference clock selection setting on the EVM.

Please allow me to ask you a couple of questions.

1. Is USB2ANY needed to modify the reference clock setting?

2. If the reference clock setting is modified, is the modification kept after powering off and on?

Regards,

Itoh

  • Hello Itoh,

Are we changing the frequency here, the input type, the on board termination..? I'm not sure what you mean specifically by "setting". TICSpro is recommended to be used to update configuration, you can select frequency as well as the input type (your board loading must match of course).

I'm assuming when saying reference we're specifically talking about INx and not XO or TCXO, make sure you're updating the correct fields in TICSpro.

LMK05028 has EEPROM which determines the startup configuration. Factory parts and EVM come with specific configuration that will allow the device to lock and function. If you make changes to the configuration to match your use case application, then you will need to program the EEPROM (1 button via TICSpro) in order to have the device startup in that new configuration after a power cycle.

    Thanks and regards,

    Amin
