LMK04616: SNAU222 Configuration 4

Part Number: LMK04616

Hi,

i can see in SNAU222 configuration 4, Device 1 feeds CLKout0 and 1 as a "Continuous SYSREF", while CLKout7 feeds 1 pulse sysref.

However, when looking into TICS PRO and register map, it seems like there is only one register that defines how many SYSREF pulses or continuous all SYSREF outputs will produce.

could you please help me to understand what i am missing here? is it just a typo and intention is just to produce continious clock from Clkout0 by disabling SYSREF_EN checkmark?

Thank you very much for your help

Dan

  • Hi Dan,

"Continuous SYSREF" is better read as "Continuous Clock at SYSREF frequency". There is no concept of dedicated device clock or SYSREF dividers on LMK04616; any output can be a "pulsed SYSREF", even if the outputs are at different frequencies, as long as the SYSREF_EN box is checked. In practice, the only difference between the Continuous and Pulsed clocks for SNAU222 configuration 4 device 1 is the phase alignment, so that the SYNC event for device 2/3 happens at the same OSCin clock cycle with the same phase alignment.
