CDCLVD2102: Unpowered Device with inputs driven

I can't find any information on having active input signals (LVDS with 1.6V CM) on an un-powered device. Is there any information on this? Is this likely to damage the device or provide a leakage path back to the power supply of the device? My use case would have the board powered off but attached to a system that is powered on and driving the inputs to the CDCLVD2102.

Hi Doug,

According to the datasheet, the input voltage should not exceed 0.2V of VCC. I will conduct some internal tests of the device powered off and provide additional detail later this week.

Hi Doug,

After testing, I confirm that using the CDCLVD2102 while unpowered is not recommended as the device can get damaged and the inputs are not fail-safe.

That said, the LMK1D2102 is our new part aimed to replace the CDCLVD2102 (pin-to-pin compatible). This device has fail-safe inputs and can handle the VDD = 0V with a CLKIN signal condition.
