CDCE913-Q1: CDCE913-Q1 Input clock voltage requirement?

Hi Sir/Madam,

Planning to use CDCE913-Q1 IC in our design. As per my understanding it accepts upto 1.9V clock input. My design need a part which accept 3.3V input clock signal.

Is it ok to use this device or any other suggestions also accepted.

Note: Need 3 output clocks with 3.3V.

Hello,

The CDCE913-Q1 supports 2.5 V and 3.3V and the CDCEL913-Q1 supports 1.8 V. The non-L version (CDCE913-Q1) will work for your system as it supports 3.3V clock outputs and 3.3V clock inputs when the VDD is 3.3V. Here's the link to the non-L version: https://www.ti.com/product/CDCE913-Q1

Hello sir,

Datasheet says VDD is 1.8V. VDDOUT is 2.5V to 3.3V for CDCE913-Q1. In absolute maximum ratings also VDD is given as 2.5V as per datasheet. How can i connect VDD to 3.3V?

Hello Sainath,

VDD must be connected to 1.8V supply. VDDOUT however can be connected to 2.5V or 3.3V for the CDCE913-Q1. VDDout defines the output voltage swing.

Hi Team,

The customer has a input signal which is based on 3.3V logic, however the CDCE913 accepts only 1.8V swing at input clock. Could you suggest the best way to convert the input swing of source 0 - 3.3V to 0 - 1.8V to give the input to cdce913

Hello Akshat, Hello Sainath,

thanks for clarifying that you ask about the input voltage. In order to change a 3.3V LVCMOS signal to a 1.8V signal you can use a simple resistor divider:

The resistor divider should be close to the input of CDCE9xx.
