LMK01000EVAL: Adapter Cable with Kit

Part Number: LMK01000EVAL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Hello,

I received my LMK01000EVAL kit. It came with an adapter cable, which has a 25-pin male D-Sub at one end and 10-pin receptacle on the other. The receptacle end is compatible with the eval board header. What is this cable for? It doesn't look like the right cable for the USB2ANY, based on the (not very clear) pictures provided in the user guide. What does the D-Sub end of the cable mate to?

Thank you.

  • Hello Courtney,

The 25-pin male D-Sub is primarily used for serial connections, allowing asynchronous transmission of data provided by standard RS-232 (RS-232C). The cable is used for programming the device through a PC parallel port.

The USB2ANY is another method for programming the device and is typically the easier method. To communicate between the LMK01000EVAL and the TICS Pro software used for programming the device, please obtain a USB2ANY and connect the middle 10 pins of the USB2ANY to the 10 pin header on the EVAL board. The USB2ANY will come with a 10-pin ribbon connector for connection between the USB2ANY and the EVAL board.

    Regards,
