LMK00101: How to process the CLKIN pin of LMK00101?

Genius 16680 points
Part Number: LMK00101

Hi Experts,

Good day.

Customer is planning to input LVDS to CLKIN0/CLKIN0* and CLKIN1/CLKIN1* of LMK00101SQE.

Checking the User's Guide, there are components in red letters. Can please tell us what these means?
R10,R11 : 0.1uF
C22,C23 : 0

The schematic in the design shows 0.1uF capacitor at R10 and R11. C22,C23 are 0Ω resistors.

Thank you.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hi Archie,

    LMK00101EVM shows the various input format options. For AC coupled differential input, 100ohm differential resistor should be at the input pins after capacitor.

    Hence, these changes are seeing in schematic. Where R10 and R11 are AC coupled caps (0.1uF) just at the input of connector and later kept 100ohm (R14) shunt resistor. C22 and C23 kept 0ohm resistor.

    Thanks!

  • Hello Ajeet,

    I understand that the circuit diagram changes have been added due to the differential termination process.

    The schematic in the user's guide has differences in symbols and components used.
    Am I correct in assuming that the following changes have been made?

    Changes
    R10 -> 0.1uF
    R14 -> 0.1uF
    C22 -> 0Ω
    C23 -> 0Ω

    Addition
    R14 -> 100Ω

    I look forward to hearing from you.

    Regards,
    Archie A.

  • Hi Archie,

    Yes, that's correct. Follow the components value mentioned in schematic. Apologies for confusion in schematic.

    Thanks!
