LMK04828-EP: vs. LMK04828 vs LMK04832 vs LMK04228

Part Number: LMK04828-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK04228, LMK04828, LMK04832,

Hello,

I'm currently considering these devices for my JESD clocks generation: LMK04228, LMK04828, LMK04828-EP, LMK04832.

As far as I know, they are all pin compatible. What is the difference between LMK04828 and LMK04828-EP?

In the TICS PRO, it seems like only "LMK04828B" and "LMK04832" is supported. Is it because I can just program "-EP" with "LMK04828B"? How about "LMK04228"?

Thank you,

Thomas Chu

  • What is the difference between LMK04828 and LMK04828-EP?

The finish on the LMK04828-EP is not lead free in it's pin metalization.  EP means enhanced plastic.  LMK04828-EP has an expanded temperature range.  LMK04828-EP also has a slight difference VCO1 frequency.  You can read more about it here https://www.ti.com/pdfs/hirel/mltry/EP_QRA_Support.pdf

Correct, LMK04828-EP can be programmed with LMK04828 TICS Pro because it is largely just a package finish for extended temp performance update.

I notice the LMK04228 profile seems to be missing.  We will update TICS Pro with the profile.  I think next week it should be updated.
