LMK00105: some questions when the input is single-ended

Part Number: LMK00105

H team,

Customer has some questions. The input is single-ended. The supply voltage is 3.3V.

Related to CLKin

1. Should they take care about VCM? When the input is single-ended, what is the input voltage range?

2. According to the datasheet, it seems VI_SE needs to be ranging from 0.3V to 2V. Is this correct?  Or VI_SE needs to be less than 0.3V as low level and more than 2V as high level?

3. Regarding VID, the differential level between CLKin and CLKin* needs to be between 0.15V and 1.5V?

Related to OSCin

4. VIH needs to be less than 2.5V or more than 2.5V?

Regards,

Noriyuki Takahashi

  • Hello Noriyuki,

    1. If the CLKin* is tied to GND, then the VCM specification is not of importance. If the CLKin* is not tied to GND, the CLKin* must be provided a voltage within the VCM range. Please see Vi_se description highlighted below.

For a single-ended input, the input voltage range requirements are 0.3 Vpp to 2 Vpp as shown above.

    2. Yes, the Vi_se must have a swing between 0.3 Vpp and 2 Vpp. It is NOT a low and high specification.

    3. Yes, the differential level betweeen CLKin and CLKin* must be between 0.15 V and 1.5 V.

    4. VIH needs to be less than 2.5 V.
