LMX2592: lock time after initial power-on

Hello team,

My customer sees lock time difference between first lock after initial power on and following locks.

Initial power on, doing soft reset then program remaining registers. After that set R0[3]=1, it takes about 2.4ms for MUXOUT lock detect to show High.

After above first lock, change N value then set R0[3]=1. In this case, it takes about 0.5ms for MUXOUT with lock detect to show High.

Is above lock time difference normal as LMX2592 behavior?

Hi Sato-san,

How did the customer measure the lock time? For example, during initial power on, we have to program all registers once, if the lock time measurement started at R64, obviously the lock time is longer as the 2.4ms included the register programming time.

In addition, it takes time for the internal LDOs to turn on and settle down to the programmed values, so it is normal that the power on lock time may take a bit longer than usual.
