LMX2592EVM: how to configure the registors inside the LMX2592.

Part Number: LMX2592EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2592

Hi Team,

I'm using LMX2592 for a fast VCO frequency sweep. I read from the data sheet and find the fastest speed is about 33us for a new frequency. But I cannot find related support in the forum. So, Could you please tell me where to get the the help?
I'm using STM32 to control the VCO. If there is a sample program for STM32 that would be great.
Actually, this is a question about how to configure the registors inside the LMX2592. Or a document would also be fine.

I browsed the forum and found some hints. BTW, the below thing was from TI website. Could you tell me how to get or buy the STM32 code inside it to control LMX2592? Thank you so much.

  • Hi James,

According to this TIDA user's guide, I believe the programming to LMX2592 is through TICS Pro. There is no MCU code developed in this TIDA.

The red EVM in the picture is available in here. It is a generic EVM for MSP430 MCU.

Programming and register information can be found in datasheet. Please also read the EVM user's guide to understand how to use TICS Pro, this tool can generate all the register settings for you.

To change VCO frequency fast, datasheet section 8.1.8 has a brief description. You can refer to this appnote for the theory and operation details. This appnote applies to LMX2592.
