TLC555-Q1: Recommended Operating Voltages

Hi,

I want use TLC555-Q1 part in our automotive project. I also found same similar part TLC555Q both are automotive grade, I read both datasheet and got to know both ic has different-different Minimum Supply Voltage(VDD).

TLC555-Q1- Vdd(min)= 2V (Screenshot attached)

TLC555Q - Vdd(min)= 5V (Screenshot attached)

Right now i am very confuse with this matter. Could your please help me for solving out this matter and let me know the VIH(max), VIH(max) and VIL(min), VIL(mini) values of both part.

Hi Jitendra,

The TLC555-Q1 has a minimum recommended supply voltage of 2V for operation over the full automotive temperature range of –40°C to 125°C.

The TLC555Q has a relaxed specification that recommends a minimum supply voltage of 5V to operate from –40°C to 125°C.

If you require an operating supply voltage below 5V, the TLC555-Q1 should be chosen.

Thank you for your response. and one more thing, Would you please let me know the VIH(max), VIH(max) and VIL(min), VIL(mini) VOH(max) VOH(min) values at 3.3V

Hi Jitendra,

The minimum and maximum input voltages are defined by the abs max ratings table, where the minimum is -0.3V and the maximum is Vdd.

We do not have a minimum/maximum output voltage spec at 3.3V. The closest we have is the 5V spec in the electrical characteristics table.

For the 5V spec across the temperature range,

VOH (min) is 0.9V below the Vdd supply

VOL (max) is 0.6V (for IOL = 8mA)

It is likely that these relationships will be similar for the 3.3V supply, so a good estimate for VOH (min) is Vdd-0.9 = 2.4V
