LMK00338: How to determine minimum Vod from Min/Max Vol and Voh

Part Number: LMK00338
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCDB800

Hi experts

I'm working on a design using LMK00338 and need to determine the minimum Vod in HSCL mode.

The spec table lists min/max Voh and Vol, but doesn't list Vod.

What is the realistic combination of Min/Max Voh/Vol to use to calculate the minimum and maximum Vod?

Also is there a way to determine how Vod would vary with temperature? What would min/max Vod be at cold or hot temperature instead of at 25C?

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Jim B

  • Hi Jim,

The value of Vod usually depends most heavily on output frequency, temperature, and supply voltage. The worst case scenario in terms of minimum Vod would probably be at 400 MHz, hot temperature, Vcco = 2.5V - 5% which might make min Vod closer to (min_Voh - max_Vol) = 520 mV - 150 mV = 370 mV. However, it's very unlikely that you'll realistically hit all of these conditions at the same time. Is there a specific minimum/maximum for Vod that your system needs? Also, what frequency are you planning on using?

  • Thanks Connor

Do you have any data you can share for the expected swing with a 60MHz clock, close to max recommended VCC with standard termination?

If we do not already have this data could someone measure it on an EVM?

Could someone also provide similar data for CDCDB800 in the same conditions?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Jim,

I am closing this thread since I already provided data over email. If there are any further questions, we can continue over the email.

    Best,
