Is LMC555 decoupling electrolytic capacitor still required?


We are using LMC555CMMX/NOPB in our schematics.

1.Please explain me, why do we need 1uF electrolytic capacitor if I can use ceramic capacitor instead electrolytic?

2. Using 0.1uF + buck capacitor(like C > 1uF ) in parallel is not actual if both capacitors are in 0402 package. So I can use only one capacitor 4.7uF 0402 in place of x2(0.1uF + buck capacitor)? Am I right?

The usage of x2 capacitors in parallel (small and buck) is actual, if we use buck capacitor in bigger package, for example 1206 in place of 0402. In this case inductance of pins of 1206 package is higher comparing with 0402, and we need to use in parallel 0402 cap for high frequency decoupling. But if buck capacitor is also in 0402(like 4.7uF) - so, we don't need to use 0.1uF in parallel. Please see Eric Bogatin webinars.
