LMX2694-SEP: PLLatinum Sim VCO Noise

Part Number: LMX2694-SEP

It looks like there are some errors in the VCO Noise Metrics and Characteristics for the LMX2694 in PLLatinum Sim 1.6.3.0/2023_4_19 - Specifically with VCO3.

For VCO3, the 1/f^3 and 1/f^2 noise is entered incorrectly - Critically, the 1 MHz (1000 kHz) phase noise is entered as -135 dBc/Hz, where the datasheet lists -125.5 dBc/Hz.

More generally, the phase noise for all VCOs seems to vary a few dBc/Hz from the values listed in the datasheet.

Is there a quick way to override these values in the tool?

  • Sorry for the late response.

Yes, there is.  If you go the the Filter Designer tab, enter "Dean_Banerjee_Mode" in to the loop bandwidth of the filter calculator tool.  This will unlock these features.

Thank you for pointing this out, I'm working on the next release and I can update the dataabase.

    Regards,
    Dean
