CDCI6214: Current source capability of the device for LVCMOS and LVDS output channel

Part Number: CDCI6214
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE6214, LMK3H0102

I want to know how much current can the LVCMOS and LVDS channel outputs can source or sink to an external devices. I couldn't find any parameter for this in the datasheet

  • Pratik,

For all new applications, we recommend using the CDCE6214, as the CDCI6214 is under NRND.

How many output clocks are required, and for which frequencies? The LMK3H0102 may serve as a more optimal solution for your application:

For the LVCMOS current sink/source, please refer to the CDCE6214 datasheet. The LVCMOS drivers between the CDCI6214 and the CDCE6214 are the same.

LVDS drivers source a current, typically around 4.5 mA, across the differential 100-Ohm termination resistor in order to generate the swing.
