LMK05318B: LMK05318B application questions

Part Number: LMK05318B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK5B33216,

Tool/software:

Hi team,

can you help with below questions?

1. LMK5B33216 has more DPLLs than LMK05318B. What benefits these DPLL can  bring?
2. We need both the input clock and TCXO as reference sources. For example, we can have two outputs at the same time, one is locked to the input reference clock, and the other is locked to the TCXO input clock. Can both chips achieve this function?

  • Hi Dane,

LMK5B33216 with 3x DPLLs and 3x APLLs provides more flexibility in frequency domains as well as ability in locking to different input references. For example, OUT0 156.25 MHz generated by APLL3 can lock to IN0 and IN1 through DPLL3 while OUT4 155.52 MHz generated by APLL2 can lock to IN0 through DPLL2.

Each APLL onLMK5B33216 or LMK05318B can lock to TCXO (free-run mode). What is the input and output frequencies that you're targeting?
