Hi,

I have some questions about TPS542A50.

1. Does TPS542A50 output voltage only can adjust from m –20% to +10%? If my default voltage is 0.5V. TPS542A50 can't rise up voltage to 0.85V?

2. Set VSET = 0.1V to let output voltage =0.5V, it when IC enable, it will output default 0.5V, right?

3. Is there have other suggestion if I need Vin=12V Vout= 0.5V~0.85V(control by I2C)(adjust per level <25mV), need set default output =0.5V, Iout= 4A, there have any better suggestion?

I am not sure I understand you first question. the device has accuracy spec'ed as below if that is what you are asking for,

2. That is correct, with 0.1 on VSET, VOUT will be set to 0.5V

Hi Tahar,

I've saw 7.5.4 mentioned it only can adjust vout from -20%~+10%, if I set Vout=0.7V, the maximum and minimum is 0.56V/0.77V?

We want use TPS542A50 to design Vout = 0.5~0.85V control by I2C.

Hi Jeff

The set voltage is configured to the device can adj 10% to -20%.

The 0.5V to 0.85V is a 70% change. 0.85V to 0.5V is 42%

If you use 0.675V, the change is +/- 26%.

If we choosing TPS544C26 seems suitable for Vin=12V Vout= 0.5V~0.85V design.

But TPS544C26 can support Non-VID, only control buy I2C to control voltage?

Hi Jeff

The part use SVID/I2C to control VOUT in order to do margining without the SVID port
1) Set the VOUT bits in SYS_CFG_USER1 to select the I2C VOUT_CMD value for output voltage.
2) Set desired output voltage in VOUT_CMD

Likely best way to do that in the other order, set the current VOUT in VOUT_CMD, then set the output voltage control source in SYS_CFG_USER1, then change VOUT via the VOUT_CMD

You can also use the I2C to apply an offset to the SVID controlled output voltage to do margining if desired margining value is within the offset range
