My customer has some questions on LMK00338
1. If this is for PCIE Gen5 CLK with HCSL, are Rs and 50ohm mandatory?
2. Is that possible to adjust voltage level on pin V_CCOA, V_CCOB, V_CCOC?
3. If HCSL's voltage of reciever is 1.8V, is there any circuit change required? Thank you.
Hi Oliver,
1. Yes, external 50Ohm to GND termination is required for HCSL.
These are not needed if these are internal to the receiver though.
2. No. Cannot adjust voltage level.
3. HCSL has a swing of ~800mV typically (VOD-SE). This is the swing our device or any HCSL clocking device should provide.
Differentially this is 1.6V.
3.3V is usually an LVCMOS (single ended clock) signal.
There would be no potential for damage here.
