If we apply the LMK3H0102A001RERR + LMKDB1204REXR in the following block diagram.

Would you please help verify if the block diagram and truth table below are correct. Thank you.

Jeff,

I have included our buffer experts to discuss further, but for the LMK3H0102 OPN I would instead recommend using LMK3H0102V33RERR for 3.3V supply, or LMK3H0102V18RERR for 1.8V supply.

Hi Jeff,
I please note the LMKDB1204 isn't bi-directional.
I see CLK2 from LMKDB1204 gets routed back to the external host and it seems to be the same path as CLKin0.

Hi Vicente,

We understand that the LMKDB1204 is not bi-directional. However, in our application, we need the 100 MHz signal from the CLK GEN to be output to an external Host through MUX CLK1 using the same path.

Please help verify whether the yellow highlighted feedback path in the following two scenarios is feasible for the LMKDB1204.

Hi Jeff,
You cannot have an output become an input.

In this image it appears the external host clock is being routed to an output. As mentioned, this device isn't bi-directional.
That is what I am understanding from the arrow direction.

Hi Vicente,

Could you please confirm if the LMK3H0102 (Clock Generator) allows independent control of OUT0 and OUT1?

If so, is it controlled via I2C or OTP mode? Could you provide details on how to control it?

If not, are there other components that can meet this requirement?

(The prerequisite is that the clock must support PCIe Gen 5 and be capable of switching between CC and SRIS modes.)

Jeff,

LMK3H0102 can have custom programming to allow for independent control of OUT0 and OUT1 through Pin 1 and Pin 2 respectively through the field SEPARATE_OE_EN. Alternatively, they can be individually controlled through I2C via the fields OUT0_EN and OUT1_EN.
