CDCVF2505: Power Decoupling and Filtering

Part Number: CDCVF2505

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am designing the CDCVF2505PWR and I have several doubts about decoupling and filtering of the power. I have reviewed the AN: SCAA045, but I do not know if th following filter is still recommendable due to the AN is dated 2000:

In the current datasheet the recommended decoupling is the following and without ferrite:

What should I follow?

Thank you.

  • If you expect to have switching low at lower frequencies, the ferrite bead can definitely help with isolation.

he main reason why we have the ferrite bead in the power supplies is to prevent noise coupling from the input/output onto the supplies. This noise can increase the jitter of the device.

I would go with option 1 given this is a PLL based clock driver.

    Best regards,

    Vicente
