Hi Team,

We are planning to use the TI part LMK03806BISQE/NOPB in our project.

Could you please confirm whether a 100 MHz crystal oscillator output can be connected to the OSCin input pin of this device? Are there any limitations on the input frequency for this pin?
Additionally, please clarify the required clock input type for the OSCin pin. Our selected crystal oscillator provides a 100 MHz sine wave output.

Vinay,

The LMK03806 can support an input frequency of 1 to 500 MHz of LVCMOS, LVDS, LVPECL, or XTAL type.

The reference input may be: A Crystal for use with the internal crystal oscillator circuit. Or a XO, TCXO, or other external clock, which must be AC Coupled.

We recommend using one of the above input clock types (square wave) instead of a sine wave.

Can you please suggest the Oven controlled crystal oscillator (ocxo) that will support this clock generator input.

What are the temperature and ppm requirements? I'm wondering if a TCXO would be suitable for this application instead.
