CDCLVP111-EP: Input biasing

Hi Team,

Posting on behalf of our customer.

I am involved in radiation tolerance testing. Can you tell me please if any sort of DC or AC biasing is necessary on the CDCLVP111-EP to check the AC electrical characteristics shown in the datasheet?

I am using automated test equipment so I was thinking that as long as I can input the correct voltage levels at timing on the CLK0, and CLK0_INV, and CLK1, and CLK_INV I won't need a external resistor network on these input pins.

Hi Danilo,

Your input format will determine whether or not you need to bias the input. If you are inputting a differential signal, you can just DC couple straight to the device input. If you are inputting a single-ended signal, you need to AC couple the input and re-bias using the VBB output from the device. The unused pin must be tied to VBB and AC coupled to GND.

Thank you for the response. By DC coupling to mean no resistors on the CLK0, and CLK0_INV, and CLK1 input pins?

Danilo,

No. By DC coupling I mean no series capacitors to remove the DC component of the incoming signal. It can still have series resistors in the path if need be.
