CDCE62002EVM driver issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE62002EVM, CDCE62002

Hi all,

I am having problems using the CDCE62002EVM. I would like to set up the EVM and then program the CDCE62002 part number that I implemented in a project. I tried the GUI in two different computers, Windows XP 32 bits and Windows7. For the first computer, I installed the driver from this link http://www.ti.com/tool/cdce62002evm and for the Windows7 computer, I am using this link http://e2e.ti.com/support/clocks/m/videos__files/480594.aspx - 0880.Installer.zip.

At the beginning, I was able to connect with the computer - Windows XP and after some time, LED D25- DEVICE COM went off. At the same time, the driver appears as Unknown device. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall but it have not worked. I have checked the SW and it was ON mode. Although the problem is that I am not able to connect with the microprocessor - USB and not with the CDCE62002.

I have tried with Windows7 but I got the same issue. The LED 25 is down. LED 26 brights so the chip is power up. This issue happens in three different boards that we bought.. I do not what I should do at this point because I think I have tried everything already.

I read that there was another person with a similar issue http://e2e.ti.com/support/clocks/f/48/t/183453.aspx. I am worried that something happened with the EEPROM when I tried to write the EEPROM unlocked through the GUI. The CDCE62002EVM uses the TUSB3210. I downloaded the TI USB EEPROM Burner Utility for the TUSB2136/TUSB3210  tool. When I tried to install it in Windows7 I got a issue - (eepromburnerDIg)(OnInitDialog)RegisterForDeviceNotification Fail (Error 13) and I am not able to select the TI USB device in the dialog box. Although I do not if this would solve my issue.

I hope a TI Guru can help me. Thanks in advance,

Victor

  • I would like to update the state of this issue.

I have worked with other Windows XP compoter and the TI USB EEPROM Burner Utility for TUSB3210. I reprogrammed the EEPROM with the *.bin file that is in the folder installation. After that, I uninstalled the SW and installled the CDCE62002EVM tool. After it is installed, I connect the USB cable and Windows XP asks me for the driver. I browse to the CDCE62002EVM program file folder that was used during installation as the TI tutorial indicates. Windows XP says that the driver has not been installed because the Wizard  could not  find the necessary software. I also tried to install the *.inf manually, right click and install but it did not work neither.

The result is that the LED25 25 is down and I cannot establish a connection.

    Thanks in advance

  • I have more information about the driver issue. I have used the USB viewer software. The Product ID was 2136 while in the CDCE62002.inf is 1E03 - USB\VID_0451&PID_1E03

This would explain why Windows XP does not recognize the EVM. If  I change the PID, Windows XP recognizes the driver and shows the device, although I cannot connect with the EVM. This happens in three boards. Why is the PID does not macth? In that case, how can I solve this issue?

    Thanks,

    Victor
