LMX2430 - unused pin, register setting

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2430

Hello,

(1) Unused RF pins
Could you please let me know the unused pin connection of LMX2430?
We use IF PLL only.

CPoutRF
FLoutRF
FinRF
RinRF*

Should we  float these pins? or connect to GND?

(2) Unused Fast Lock pins
And Please let me know the following pins connection when we don't use Fast Lock.
ENosc
OSCout/FLoutIF

(3) Power Down RFPLL
If we use IFPLL only, can we disable the RFPLL with the following register only?

RF_PD = R1[23]: 1

If we should set the other register for power down the RFPLL, please let me know.

(4)  Ftest/LD pin
Could you please let me know the register setting of MUX[3:0] for  "IF PLL Digital Filtered Lock Detect Output ( Active High, Inactive Low) " ?
Is this 0101 of "IF PLL Digital Lock Detect"?

Best Regards,

  • Ryuji,

The general rule of thumb is:

1.Connect power to all power supply pins as they can power more than just one block.

    2.  Don't Ground Outputs -- leave floating.   I.e, leave CPoutRF FLoutRF. OSCout/FLoutIF

    3.  Leave unused outputs floating.  i.e. Leave FinRF and FinRF* floating

    4.  By setting RF_PD = 1, this powers down the RF PLL and it draws no extra current.

    5.  Setting 5 = #0101b is for IF digital lock detect
