LMX2430 - RF register settings (R0,R1,R2) when RF power down

Guru 20090 points

Hello,

Could you please let me know the recommended register setting when RF_PD=1 ?

<Reg : R0 >
21 : RF_RST   -> Please let me know recommended setting, if there is.
20 : RF_CPT   -> Please let me know recommended setting, if there is.
19 : RF_CPG   -> Please let me know recommended setting, if there is.
18 : RF_CPP   -> Please let me know recommended setting, if there is.
17 - 3 : RF_R[14:0]  -> Can we set 0 or 1 or 2 for this value ? ( in the datasheet, the dicide ratio range is from 3 to 32767)

<Reg : R1 >
22 : RF_P   -> Please let me know recommended setting, if there is.
21-7 : RF_B[14:0]  -> Can we set 0 or 1 or 2 for this value ? ( in the datasheet, the dicide ratio range is from 3 to 32767)
6-3 : RF_A[3:0]   -> Can we set 0 ?  Please let me know recommended setting, if there is.

<Reg : R2 > RF_TOC[11:0] -> Can we set 0 ?  Please let me know recommended setting, if there is.

  • Ryuji,
    If you power down the RF PLL, none of these bits have any impact at all during power down. So if the device is always powering down the RF side, then they are all don't care, but it would be good to program something. I would use 0 in all cases, if it is valid.
    Now if you are powering down the RF side and you will bbe powering it up at some time, then set these bits to something that you want it to be in the non-powerup state. We do have the reset bits for the counter to prevent glitches when you power up the RF side, but again, this would only apply if you are powering down the RF side with the intention of eventually powering it up.

  • Hello Dean san,

    Thank you for the reply.
    Since the device is always power down the RF side in their system, I will recommend to set 0 for RF reg.
