LMX2487 External VCO application

Hi,

I want to integrate Z-comm CRO6835Z VCO with LMX2487EVM. As EVM has it's own VCO, and I intend to use both VCOs (on-board and external) for two different experiments, is there a way to integrate both VCOs with board and bypass one when the other is required?

Regards,

Nidhi Singh

  • Hi Nidhi,

The VCO can be replaced with a footprint compatible VCO. But there is no clean way to integrate both VCO at the same time on this board.

Do you need to experiment with both at the same time or one VCO at a time would be fine?

If you really need it, you might be able to add wires to the board and hack up the IF VCO.

To disable the VCO remove the resistors and drive the FinRF pin.

    Best Regards,

    Julian
