SN65LVDS104: SN65LVDS104 about the jitter question

Part Number: SN65LVDS104

Hi team,

The customer needs to get the jitter time for SN65LVDS104. His clock frequency is 100MHZ.

His jitter requirement is 3 ps RMS. Figure 9 of the datasheet shows the jitter exceed 3ps when the clock frequency is 100MHZ, correct?

Would you recommend a suitable device?

  • Hello Mickey,

Is the customer looking to use this device for clock distribution? If so Figure 10 is the correct graph to look at. Additionally, the jitter for this device is measured in peak-to-peak jitter. At 100MHz the peak-to-peak jitter is around 9ps or 11ps. Assuming a BER tolerance of 10^-12, this translates to about 0.64ps RMS or 0.78ps RMS.

    Regards,
    I.K.
