CDCM61001: low cost PLL/clock generator

Part Number: CDCM61001
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCM6208, CDCI6214, LMX2485E, LMX2571

Dear Sirs,

My customer is  looking for low cost PLL or clock generator in place of

MB15F63UL ( IF block only ):::::  please refer attached ppt.

:Vcc= 3.3V

:Input 26MHz ( or 25MHz) TCXO

:Output frequency

  1) 276.35MHz

  2) 369.95MHz

Require C/N > 80~ 90dB/Hz at center frequency at offset=1kHz

Low cost ( lower price ;1chip (2ch) or 2 chip)

I will suggest customer 2chip CDCM61001 and CDI62004  or 1 chip CDCM6208.

Question 1 ( Webench designer)

In case CDCM61001, 24+199/300 MHz input are necessary for output is 369.95MHz .

Does it mean 24+0.663333..MHz = 24.663333MHz?

Question 2

In case CDCM61001, I could not have 276.35MHz in Webench. (Clock tree builder alert) ….I think it may be too low output frequency

On the other hand, in case CDCI6214 , I could not have 369.95MHz(Clock tree builder alert).. I think it may be too high output frequency

So, I think I have to suggest CDCM6208 , but its 8ch output. Cost is $5.2 at 1ku

Would you please advise another solution?

Don’t you have smaller (2~4ch) output version of CDCM6208 ?

Thank you for your support

Best Regards

  • Hi Kanji,
LMX2485E can replace MB15F63UL, but still need two external VCOs (276.35MHz and 369.95 MHz).

CDCM6208 or CDCI6214 (with internal VCO )one-unit solution would generate a clock with some frequency ppm offset.
Please confirm that you need 0 ppm offset for input (26 MHz / 25 MHz) and outputs (276.35MHz and 369.95 MHz) when PLL locked.
If it is, then we still need 2 individual PLLs, especially a fraction-N PLL for 276.35 MHz output.
2 units of LMX2571 could do it.

    Regards,
    Shawn
