LMX2582: EVM

Part Number: LMX2582
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Dears,

I lost the communication between  the TICS PRO and the LMX2582EVM. TICS PRO  detects the board, but it can't write any register. The Board is consuming 0.17 A.
Any idea to resolve that problem?
How can I identify if the problem is from the USB2ANY or from the EVM it self.

It was working well, and suddenly I lost the communication.

Regards,

  • Hussein,
    Try the following:
Go to USB Communications -> Interface Then click the "identify" button to verify

If this works, then typically the USB2ANY is working and connected.

Then I would go to the default configuration and load the default mode to ensure that this no programming issue or bit that is wrong.

Next cycle power. The 170 mA sounds like power on reset current.

Next power up and down to try to change this current.

Next put oscilloscope on the SDA, SDI, and CSB lines to ensure proper signal is getting to the board. If ribbon cable is worn or plugged in incorrectly, this should show up with this test.

  • Dean,

The LED on board is not Blinking when I click the "Identify" button.
Power Up and down is not working.
Concerning the SDk,SDI and CSB signals, how should they appear? (what is proper signal)

    Regards,

  • Hussein,
OK, this looks like a problem with the USB2ANY as it does not blink for the "identify".

I would expect TICSPro to say "Device Not Connected" under connection mode. I would try unplugging the USB2ANY and making sure it confirms this; make sure it is not confusing some other USB device for the USB2ANY.
