CDCE62002EVM: Installing the driver & firmware of CDCE62002EVM to customPCB.

Part Number: CDCE62002EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE62002,I tried to create a custom PCB that can change the CDCE62002 settings with CDCE62002GUI. The board I created has the TUSB3210 and EEPROM, as well as the CDCE62002EVM reference circuit diagram. However, I failed to install the CDCE62002EVM driver according to the EVM manual. I tried windows10 and windows7 but it failed. Do I need upload some driver or firmware to the TUSB3210 & EEPROM on the custom PCB before installing CDCE62002 driver? Would you tell me the necessary steps and firmware?
  • Hi Potemkism,

I just want to let you know that I am working on it, but unfortunately it is taking more than expected time for me to track the history. I am still working on it and will give you post once I have enough information to share. Stay tuned.
  • Thank you for your response.
I was able to solve this problem.
I will report the details later.
  • Sorry for my late response.
I succeeded in uploading the CDCE62002EVM firmware to the custom PCB in the following procedure.

    1. Download the past GUI software package to get the EEPROM firmware.
    (CDCE62002Fw.bin is included.)
★The latest GUI software (1.2.1) package did not contain firmware.

    2. Download the TUSB3x10_EEPROM_Burner.
    www.ti.com/.../sllc443

    3. Upload firmware to the EEPROM(for the TUSB3210).
Please refer to the following thread for setting.
    e2e.ti.com/.../511305

    The setting is very important.
★Gear icon -> check "Show the Program Full Binary Image button"
★Press "!caution" mark icon. Not "flame" icon.
→After a few seconds, the firmware is uploaded to the EEPROM and the PC recognizes the CDCE62002 EVM when the PCB is rebooted.

If you press the "flame icon" to write, the PC will not recognize the TUSB3210.
In that case, it can not be used until the EEPROM is initialized.
  • Thanks Potemkism, your information is really helpful.
