LMK00101: OE trigger SYNC

Part Number: LMK00101
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK01010

Hi

we need to use the SYNC function of LMK00101. Is this integration way the same as the function of LMK01010?

Can LMK00101 indirectly trigger SYNC function by triggering OE pin to synchronize multiple clocks?

thanks

  • Hi Liven,

    Their sync functions are different.

In LMK01010, the sync is used to synchronize all the output clocks because the divider will generate different phases. See http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snaa060a/snaa060a.pdf for details.

in LMK00101, the sync is to ensure glitch-less output enable or disable.

The OE pin is synchronized to the input clock to ensure that there are no runt pulses. When OE is changed from
Low to High, the outputs will initially have an impedance of about 400 Ù to ground until the second falling edge of
the input clock. Starting with the second falling edge of the input clock, the outputs will buffer the input.

The phase of all output clocks are basically aligned because there is no output divider.
