LMX2582EVM: LMX2582EVM Burst or Ramp Mode

Part Number: LMX2582EVM

Where can I get any guidance on how to set up the burst mode using TICSPro software with LMC2582EVM board?

  • Hi Waldemar,

The Burst mode is quite straight forward.

From the Load Register pull down menu, select the register that you want to program. If you have multiple registers you want to program, select them one by one. You could add some delay between them by clicking the Delay button.

Is there a specific sequence you want to generate with burst mode?

  • Do you have some example script file that I can generate a frequency ramp signal?

    Waldemar

  • Hi Waldemar,

We don't have example script for ramp.

Please note if you want to do a manual freq ramp with TICS Pro.

    - SPI programming speed is fixed at 125kHz, this is not configurable

    - Every time you change the frequency, you need to program R0 to do a calibration. As such, you will end up not having a linear frequency ramp

    - You can change the NUM gradually to get linear freq ramp, however, the possible ramp range is limited to maybe 50MHz. Over this range, a calibration is required to get it locked correctly.
