I just installed ClockPro on my Windows 10 laptop.

I plugged in the CDC Programming EVM with a CDCE913 in the socket.

Both LEDs are red.

When I hit Skip to select a device, all devices show up as (Local), It cannot find the EVM.

ALso, the EVM did NOT come with a CD so not sure how to install drivers which is most probably what is missing.

    Hi Mike,

    I don't recall having the same problem with my windows 10 laptop. Still, I sent you some email history and test procedures that are related to the windows 10 issue. Hope that helps.

    Hi Mike,

    Although we've been resolving this over email with you, I wanted to capture instructions on this E2E question to help future users encountering this issue.

    1. Open Clock Pro and click “Programming EVM Tool” to open the Programming EVM portion of the GUI. The other sections of the GUI are for device EVMs, and will not communicate with the programming EVM.
    2. On the Programming EVM GUI page, click “Find Boards” with the programming board plugged in and the device loaded in the socket. A (very small) note in the user's guide also explains that earlier revisions of the programming board mislabeled the silkscreen for J5; version 1.1 or higher of the board has the corrected silkscreen, so this note is only pertinent to users with v1.0 of the EVM. Otherwise, follow EVM directions when configuring the device.
    3. Load an EEPROM image using “File -> Load File”. In my case a warning came up, see footnote 1 below.
    4. Click the checkbox on the board that shows up in the “Select Boards” list to open that board's programming status window.
    5. On the Programming EVM GUI page (NOT the status window that just opened, but the previous one with the "Select Boards" options), click “Program Devices”. See footnote 2 below.

    Footnotes:

    1. The software may raise some complaints with the register programming if PWDN=1 or if Y1 state is set to 00. PWDN=1 would disable the device on startup, effectively locking it if used in pin-mode. Meanwhile, Y1 state can be set to other values through the GUI prompts.
    2. For configurations which set the device in pin-mode, it is not possible to check if the EEPROM was successfully programmed since the communications bus is disabled after power cycling or loading the EEPROM image. The GUI will report this as an error, despite potentially programming the device correctly.

    I'm going to mark this thread as resolved since we are supporting you through email, and I will append any relevant follow-up information we may uncover in subsequent debugging to the E2E thread.
