CDCE906-706PROGEVM: How does one program the EVM with no parallel port

Part Number: CDCE906-706PROGEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY, CDCE906-706PERFEVM,

The CDCD906-706PROGEVM ships with a parallel port and the instructions reference connecting it up to your computer parallel port.   PCs haven't had parallel ports for 15 years, yet this product is still sold and supported by TI.  I was recommended to use the USB2Any with the TI Clock Pro software, however the software does not recognize a device.  I am using version 1.2.1 TI Clock pro and have connnected pins 46 and 47 from the USB2Any to J17 SCL and SDA lines.  Is there a different configuration to use to get TI clock pro to recognize a device through the USB2ANY.?

  • Hello Ryan,

Can you confirm you are actually using CDCE906-706PERFEVM and not CDCE906-706PROGEVM

On USB2ANY, pin 46 is SDA and pin 47 is SCL. On J17 pin 2 is SDA and pin 3 is SCL. Can you also try brining in a GND from J4 of the USB2ANY and connect to the GND on J17 to ensure they are the same GND.

    Thanks,

    Vibhu
