TPL5111: Manual power on vibration

Part Number: TPL5111

Hello everyone,

I would like to use the TPL5111 to frequently power up an IoT device to transmit data. The IoT device should also be activated when a small movement is recognized, therefore I would like to use a simple vibration sensor like SW-18015P between VDD and DELAY/M_DRV to power on the TPL5111. SW-18015P seem to have a "shorting" time of 2ms while TPL5111 needs 20ms. Any idea/hint how to still use a simple vibration sensor?

Best regards,

Philipp

  • Hi Philipp,

I'm not intimately familiar with SW-18015P, but it would be most simple if that vibration sensor is able to conduct for up to 20ms. It would be good to understand if the 2ms specification is a minimum specification, or typical.

One way to achieve this is by creating a one-shot circuit using a 555 timer. The 555 timer would be designed with a mono-stable circuit as described in this FAQ:

    Kind regards,
    Lane
