LMK04816: |TSKEW|

Part Number: LMK04816
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC08DJ3200, LMK04832

Hi team,

My customer considers to use LMK04816 and he is asking some questions.

  1. Do you have estimated max value for max |TSKEW| between different Clock Group in case of LVPECL output?
  2. Is LMK04816 available for JESD204B Subclass1 applications?
(Is LMK04816 suitable to output Device Clock, SYSREF for ADC08DJJ3200?)
  3. Is there any recommended device for JESD204B interface of ADC08DJ3200?

I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.

Best regards,

Shota Mago

  • Hello Shota,

    1. We do not have a measurement for the max |TSKEW|, but the typical value is 30 ps as shown below.

    2. The LMK04816 is not available for JESD204B subclass1 applications.

    3. I recommend the LMK04832. The LMK04832 has the ability for JESD204B interface and has better performance metrics than the LMK04816.

  • Hi Kia,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

As for question 1, is that value(typ TSKEW) applicable for different clock group?

(Is this typ value applicable for CLKout0 and CLKout2? or is it just only applicable for same clock group like CLKout0 and CLKout1?)

If it doesn't cover different clock group, do you have any TSKEW data for different clock gruop?

    Best regards,

    Shota Mago

  • Hello Shota,

The typical TSKEW is applicable for different clock groups as long as the two clock outputs have equal loading and identical clock output configuration.

In your case, if the two outputs have a RL = 100 ohms and both outputs are LVPECL then the typical TSKEW is applicable for any two clock outputs.
