CDCLVD1204: power consumption

Part Number: CDCLVD1204

Hi Team,

Customer wants to understand how to calculate power consumption of clock buffer.

When load is 100 ohms, VCC us 2.5V, please kindly provide me the calculation, thanks!

By the way, cannot understand the calculation in the datasheet, it doesn't explain where Imax came from, and Vmax 3.6V doesn't make sense, thx.

Andrew

  • Hi Andrew,

    My coworker will get back to you in a few hours.

  • Hello Andrew,

    The example shown in section 11.3 of the datasheet, stating Vmax is 3.6V, is not using the actual Vmax provided by CDCLVD1204 device. CDCLVD1204 electrical characteristics show that Vcc (Max) is 2.625 V within section 6.3 of the Datasheet.

    The Supply Current is shown as Icc100 or Icc800 - these have all outputs terminated with 100 Ohms. The current also depends on the frequency buffer is providing.

    Power = Icc() × Vmax
