CDCE6214-Q1EVM: BOM and loop filter calculation

Genius 12705 points
Part Number: CDCE6214-Q1EVM

Hello Team,

may I kindly ask you for the BOM, especially the PN of the 25MHz crystal, please.

Also, how can I calculate the values of the integrated loop filter to achieve lowest loop bandwidth of 100kHz?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Hans

    Hello Hans,

Please utilize the zip file to install the 'J' version of PLLatinumSim.

After opening the GUI please load in the attached sim template document by selecting 'Custom' device at the bottom of the menu and clicking 'Load Device'.

After filter design is tab is shown please change 'Loop Bandwidth' field to desired design target also changing Filter Optimizer to 'Jitter'.

After Loop bandwidth is selected as well as filter optimizer you can run 'Calculate Loop Filter' which will select best settings of C1, C2 and R2 or Cz, Cp and Rp according to TICSPRO GUI.

If invalid options of these resistors are selected please use the 'Forced' component Values to select a specific setting utilizing the 'Calculate Loop Filter' tool afterward. You may also try the settings by changing the individual loop filter components in the associated field of the circuit.

Please also note that Kpd will associate with TICSPRO setting of 'CP Gain' and will also impact Phase Noise Plot.

    Hopefully this helps!
