LMX2594: OSCin differential drive datasheet suggestion

Part Number: LMX2594

Good afternoon

The data sheet for the LMX2594 (page 54) shows internal 50 Ohm resistors which are not in fact there, from your comments I understand these are actually high impedance.

It also shows that with a single ended clock no coupling capacitor is required. However, this contradicts the information given on page 5 (below). Which is correct?

I have a CMOS clock and am currently assuming that I do not need the coupling capacitor or any 50 Ohm pull up but simply connect the clock outputs directly to the LMX2594 OSCin pins. Am I correct?

Many thanks for your help.

  • Keith,

Do you have the latest March 2018 LMX2594 datasheet?   I think we removed these incorrect diagrams.

In any case, there should be an AC coupling capacitor for both OSCinP and OSCinN.  Then, since these are high impedance, you need the 50 ohm termination as well.  If you drive single-ended, it is good to also use termination on the unused side as this is best for spurs.

    Regards,
