DAC7571: How does a one-channel DAC output four signals?

Part Number: DAC7571
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8760

Because of cost constraints, I want to use the DAC7571 to output four independent voltage signals, and control the voltage-current conversion circuit to output four 4-20mA.
Is there a voltage holding chip that switches the DAC7571 output through an analog switch to output four independent voltage signals.

  • Rengui,

I don't know of a specific holding circuit, but you may be able to construct a basic sample and hold from a multiplexer and capacitors. There is a writeup for a design using the DAC8760 (not the DAC7571) for a similar function. It uses a single DAC to create four voltage outputs and four current outputs. You can find the design in the following folder link and a writeup in the pdf link. There should be enough information to help guide you into designing a similar system.
