DAC8734EVM: Low noise boost converter for operation of DAC8734 from a single 5V source

Part Number: DAC8734EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8734, TPS65131

Hi,

We have a load that needs a variable low noise programmable voltage between ±5V with around 250mA (we are using an op-amp buffer to support the current draw) .

We are using the DAC8734 with an op-amp buffer (AD8030ARZ) . The problem is that the power supply to the board we are designing is a 5V 4A regulator.

Due to the voltage requirements for the DAC 8734 (which is VIN= ±(VREFX2+1V)), I was wondering if there are options from TI for a low noise boost converter for +7V and -7V volts (250mA max load). Can you suggest power converters for our use? We won't have any other additional loads apart from this on the line.

Also, can I use a converter with a higher switching frequency (in Mhz range) and use a filter with a low cut-off (Like in 10s of Khz) to reduce the noise to a minimum? will a Ferrite bread (L) and Cap filter work?

Regards,
