ADS1282: Multiple register reads/writes

Part Number: ADS1282

There are only 11 registers, so why does the nnnnn field for multiple register reads or writes have 5 bits? Doesn't it only need 4?

Jay Prizant

  • Hi Jay,

You are correct, only 4-bits are needed to address all of the registers. It's possible that the MSB is not used here, or perhaps it was added to allow for future devices in this family to utilize the same interface while also allowing for additional registers.

Let me know if you have any additional questions!

    Best regards,
    Chris
