DAC70501: Reference alarm condition

Part Number: DAC70501

Hi Team,

Currently, I used VDD=3.3V and set BUFF-GAIN=1, REF-DIV=0.

The configuration will trigger a reference alarm condition, we do see all the DAC outputs go to 0 V

Can we see normal Vout if VDD is changed to 5V and BUFF-GAIN=1, REF-DIV=0?

I know there is a headroom of VOUT, in our application, we only need VOUT max = 3V.

Thanks,

Hector

  • Hi,

    If you need 3V as maximum output, I suggest use REF_DIV = 0 and BUF_GAIN = 1 with VDD = 5V

In this case, your maximum Vout will be 2*Vref which is 5V.

Other option is to use 3V as external reference, REF_DIV = 1 & BUF_GAIN  = 1, with VDD as 3.3V. In this configuration, maximum Vout will be 3V (Vref)

    Regards,

    AK
