DAC8551: difference between DAC8551 and DAC8531

I saw the DAC8551 is a drop in replacement of DAC8531, and the datasheets are quite the same, can you tell me the difference between DAC8551 and DAC8531. Both of them are used in my products but in different design. Thanks a lot.

Hi,

DAC8551 is more modern product with better specifications than DAC8531. Functionally both DAC's are the same, but specifications wise DAC8531 performs much better than DAC8531.

For example, take gain error for DAC8531, its 1.25%FSR where as for DAC8551 it is 0.2%FSR

I suggest to use DAC8551 in all your designs rather than DAC8531.
