ADS1119: conversion wait time, not using DRDY pin

Part Number: ADS1119

Hi Experts,

My customer is going to read the conversion data after elapsing 1.04ms after issuing STAT/SYNC command without monitoring DRDY pin or DRDY bit

Single-shot conversion mode

1000SPS

I need your confirmation if this method is applicable.

Regards,

Uchikoshi

  • Hi Uchikoshi-san,

The 'actual time' shown in the table is assuming a nominal internal clock oscillator of 1.024MHz.  The Electrical Characteristics table on page 5 of the ADS1119 datasheet shows a typical variation of +/- 1% and a variation as much as +/- 2%.  When determining the worst case timing for the delay prior to read, you should use the slowest possible clock.  The slowest clock timing would be 98% if 1.024MHz, or 1003520 Hz with a period of approximately 0.9965 us.

Take the tclk value shown in the table for 1000sps which is 1061 and multiply times the calculated period.  The conversion time calculates to approximately 1.057ms minimum wait time before reading conversion data.

    Best regards,
