Hello Guys,
Good day.
Our customer is considering to use ADC081S021 but it requires a microcontroller interface to control CSnot. Is there something of an alternative that willcontinuously put out 8-bit words for the 0 to Vdd input voltage as it varies, without any uC control. In other words it has to sample the input, shoot out an 8-bit word over SPI and then sample the input again. Over and over until it powers down.
Single supply: Vdd = 4.5 to 5.5v, Fs = 50kHz minimum -> 1Mhz max, 8-bit words will go to a Microchip MCP41XXX to continuously vary the digital resistor.
Thanks and regards,
Art
Hi Art,
I'm not aware of any devices in our portfolio that can generate an internal clock and self start a conversion. The ADC081S021 needs both a clock source as well as a /CS input. Maybe you could use a simple 555 timer and a ripple counter to achieve this operation without the intervention of a micro.
