Q1:  Can I clock slower than 1 GSPS and how slo?.  The only think I see about less than 1 GSPS is Figure 55, 56 show show down to 700 MSPS.

Q2:  Is it possible to just use this device, using only 1 ADC?  I like its performance features, but only need 1 … can I leave the other one unused?  If so, is there recommended treatment of those I/O, settings to turn off a channel, etc.?

I definitely want to know the min clock rate, but it looks like from Table 10, I can get it down to as low as 250 and Table 12 (if I decide to use that mode) I can get down to 300.  I definitely want to use 480 MSPS clock rate for sure if I don't use Decimation.  I also might to try up to 960 MSPS with use of Decimation.  I know that sounds a little backward, but if I were to be using the Decimation, I'd be using DDC in device versus if I used 480 MSPS, I'd use my own (so wouldn't need I/Q like I would get for decimation).

  • Chris,

Per the data sheet, the minimum clock rate is 250Msps. You can use only one ADC if you like. Just  use a differential 100 Ohm resistor across the unused input pair.
Follow the data sheet for information on powering down a single channel.
