ADS1230: min and max for the ADS1230

Part Number: ADS1230

Hi Team,

I understand SD-ADC's date rate can be very low and the range is related to ENOB. But may I ask the sample rate min and max for the ADS1230, it only gives a typical of 10/80SPS from the datasheet? Thanks.

  • Hi Hao,

The data rate scales with the oscillator for the ADS1230.  This is no min/max specification for the internal oscillator for the ADS1230.  If a specific data rate is desired the range of external clock that can be applied can be as low as 200kHz and as high as 6MHz.  The nominal data rates are based on a 4.9152MHz clock.

There are two data rates that are nominal using the internal oscillator.  10sps is the slower rate (fclk/491,520) and 80sps is the faster (fclk/61,440) based on the 4.9152MHz clock.  The slowest possible data rate would be 200kHz/491,520 which is 0.407sps.  The fastest possible would be 6MHz/61,440 which is 97.65sps.

    Best regards,

    Bob B
