DAC104S085: Negative Voltage

Part Number: DAC104S085
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP92066, AMC7834, AFE10004

Hello!

Can this DAC be run with GND at -5V & Vcc at 0V? I need negative gate voltage for an RF amplifier but have no room to level shift. Is there anything about the chip that would prevent running it between -5V & 0V? (I would shift the control signals to match the chip's voltage levels, of course)

Thank you,

Sarah

  • Hi Sarah, technically you could do this, but you would need to level shift all the digital communication, and take special care that certain biases are correct.  Are you driving a GaN/GaAs PA?

If so, you could consider some of our other devices, like the LMP92066, AMC7834, or AFE10004.  Feel free to reach out directly to me if this is a RF PA application.

    Thanks,

    Paul
