ADS124S08EVM: ADS124S08EVM Windows 10 USB driver

Part Number: ADS124S08EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO

Hi,

I have installed the following 2 software.

  1. Download and install DeltaSigmaEvaluation EVM GUI Software
  2. Download and install ADS124S08EVM-DVCPKG Plugin Software

When I open Delta-Sigma ADC Evaluation software, it shows that "Hardware Not Connected. Ready ...."

Where can I find latest Windows 10 USB driver for ADS124S08EVM?

Device manager screenshot attached. "TivaWare Bulk Devices" not seen in Device manager. I see only "Generic Bulk devices" under "Other devices" with warning symbol

How to fix this?

  • Hi ,

I am sorry that you are encountering this driver issue.

The Generic Bulk Driver can be found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\DSEvalSW\Drivers directory. I'm pretty sure that you will need to manually install the driver in order for Windows to use the correct driver.

There is an FAQ here which walks through the manual driver installation process in Windows. You can ignore the introductory information and jump directly to STEP #1 in the "AFTER installing these drivers..." section. The instructions are applicable to any device driver; however, in STEP #8 make sure to navigate to and select C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\DSEvalSW\Drivers\usb_dev_bulk.inf for the INF driver file.

I hope this information helps you resolve the issue. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Best regards,
    Chris

  • Thanks, This helps..!!

In link ADS124S08EVM Evaluation board | TI.com, it was mentioned in step-6 as

    1. Launch DeltaSigmaEvaluation EVM GUI Software and Load ADS124S08EVM Plugin

    Question:

Where can I find plugin file for ADC configuration in various modes?

  • Hi ,

The plugin file is downloaded in step #4... When installed it should create a new folder in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\DSEvalSW\Devices. (This path should match the User Directory setting in the GUI's options menu).

When you run the Delta-Sigma EvaluaTIon application it will try to connect to the hardware and automatically identify the hardware and then load the correct plugin.

    Does that answer your question?

    Best regards,
    Chris

  • Thanks, This helps..!

I thought user explicitly load the ADC configuration plugin file

  • No problem!

This GUI will load the plugin file for you because the EVM firmware is already flashed to the TIVA MCU.

You might be thinking of ADCPro where the controller card and EVM daughter card were separate boards. In that GUI you had to explicitly load the plugin file so that the GUI would flash the correct firmware at runtime.

    Best regards,
    Chris
